Lenovo tab P12 PC mode problem

Hello, i have bought the Lenovo tab P12 with the keyboard. When connecting it, it pass into the "PC mode" and just goes back to the old wallpaper it had (i use wallpaper engine to get my wallpaper). Any idea on how to change that ? thx !

Hello again @IamHerk ,

I managed to get a response from our colleagues about this matter and they said that it is possible the feature's been removed by design, since the "change background" option is no longer available under the "organize the desktop" settings. With this, it would be worth to try changing the wallpaper manually when the tablet's been placed in PC or desktop mode.

Sorry to read about the issue that you're experiencing with the P12 tablet. May I ask, when did you start to notice it? Were there any changes that's been made on the device before it happened? Also, are you referring to the tablet's Wallpaper settings?

For now, please ensure that the tablet's updated to its latest version. If it does, I advise you to reset it to factory settings instead inside the Recovery Console menu by following the steps in this video. Don't forget to back-up your files first to avoid data loss. Once done, proceed with the initial setup, then test it again.

Hi ! it happened immediatly after receiving it. 

For some context here is what happened :  

I get the Lenovo tab P12. 

I download the wallpaper engine app. 

The wallpaper from wallpaper engine works for the main screen, but not the lock screen OR the PC mod screen. 

Normal wallpaper (from the setting) seems to work for everything, but since it cant be a video, i cant use my actual wallpaper

And thank you for providing more context. It seems that the issue might be related to the Wallpaper Engine app's compatibility with the Lenovo Tab P12's PC mode and lock screen.

Unfortunately, not all apps are fully compatible with every device's specific features. It's possible that the Wallpaper Engine app may not support video wallpapers on the lock screen or PC mode screen of your Lenovo Tab P12.

I recommend reaching out to the developers of the Wallpaper Engine app for further assistance. They might be able to provide a solution or update the app to support these features on your device.

For now, I would suggest you to continue using wallpaper(s) on the tablet via the default Wallpaper settings itself.

     I have the same issue with not being able to change the background in pc mode.  I'm on Android 13 and when you press and hold the screen, a popup gives one option to "organize the desktop" but no longer gives the "change background" option as in Android 11 or 12.  Any background I have in tablet mode does not move to pc mode.  The pc mode background always stays on the default stock one.  I am not using a background manager so I don't think the original poster's issue with a background manager has anything to do with it.  I'd appreciate a resolution to this issue too please.

Sorry to know that you're also experiencing the same issue. However, is this for the same device? If not, please provide its exact MTM number (Ex. Z1DN0000US) here so that we can check its specs.

In the meantime, please check the device still for any firmware updates.

     I hated doing that but I did. Lol.  I am still experiencing the same issue of not being able to change the desktop in pc mode. Please remember, the option was available while running android 11 and 12.  Now with android 13, it's gone.

I'll check this with our team and get back here once I receive a response from them. In the meantime, we would appreciate it if you can also post here your tablet's current firmware version by going to Settings > System so that I can also pass it to them.
