Lenovo tablet M10 FHD Rel 3gb screen blank totally

I have purchase my Lenovo tablet M10 FHD Rel 3gb just 2 months ago. Yesterday, suddenly, screen started blinking and then goes totally blank. When I power on, it vibrates, LCD screen backlight is on , but lenovo logo is not coming (actually nothing coming). I tried all the key combinations, but all in vain.

Glad to have you posting here!

 

Try connecting your Tab M10 FHD Rel to its AC adapter for like 1 or 2 hours just for it to get sufficient charge/power then press the Power button again and see if it will boot successfully.

 

Check as well if the device's power indicator also shows light (amber).

 

Should that didn't work, try accessing the Recovery Console by following the steps below:

 

  1. Ensure the device is turned off and not connected to any charger.
  2. Press and hold the correct keys to start the device into recovery mode. This varies from device to device. Normally there are three key combinations to enter recovery mode for Lenovo android tablets:
    • Volume Up + Power
    • Volume Down + Power
    • Volume Up + Volume Down + Power
  3. Navigate to Wipe data/factory reset or Reset factory
  4. Press Enter. Factory reset will start automatically and wait till it finishes

 

Update us how it goes.

Thanks for your help. 

But I have tried the charging trick. Device is fully charged with green signal at charging indicator. Still screen didn't have display.

I tried the resetting trick, but when the screen has no display, obviously I could not see any menu to navigate to wipe cache , or anything.

It would be best to get in touch with our Lenovo phone/technical support team instead for further recommendations towards this especially if there's a possible hardware concern particularly with the Lenovo Tab M10 FHD Rel's screen that would require repairs for it to work properly again.

 

Please click on this link to get their contact details and provide them its serial number so that they can also check its warranty entitlement.

Thanks for the reply. I went to service center and they kept my device. Will update you what they say after repairing. 

 

Problem is it's just 2 months and I have to take this headache that go to service center (that's far from my house as Lenovo tab has a bad support facility in our state), they keep the device for some days and then again need to go to there to take the tab back, etc...

You may also go directly to the Lenovo support site and enter your machine's serial number then go to Repair Status tab to see the status of your machine's repair process.

 

Or you may get in touch with our Lenovo phone support instead and provide them your ticket number so that they can check it for any updates also.

They returned the device after repair. But I didn't get details what is repaired. I think Lenovo has no such good document maintenance for this. Now the display is okay. But this is a common issue, because when I was coming back, another customer was there with the same issue. And even his tab was repaired for same issue just 2 months earlier and again the issue was coming. I think Lenovo has some defect or something on this.

 

Can you say two things?

 

1. I keep the tab in cover (hard case) which may be tight for the tab. Did that create problem on the display (though cover is not giving pressure on display, rather that's tight on the 4 sides)?

 

2. The cover has magnet, so when I put the lid off, the hall effect sensor turns the screen off, and if I open the lid, the screen turns on. So is it the culprit who is manipulating the display brightness again and again (I on and off the lid when I read/unread pdf at the tab) and damaged it? 

 

I need some help so that I can take care of it, because service center is very far from me, plus, lenovo tab has very less service center.

It would be advisable to check this with the hard case cover (accessory) manufacturer if the item is made to be fully compatible with the Lenovo Tab M10 FHD Rel device as they're the only ones that can confirm it on their end.

 

However, you may also get in touch with our Lenovo Sales at 1800-4199-733 from Mon-Sat - 9AM to 8PM or through this other link (look for Contact tab on the upper right side) for further assistance in checking the type of accessories that is/are compatible for your Lenovo Tab M10 FHD Rel itself.

Thanks for the reply. I checked with manufacturer and many users review as well. People are using the cover in this model. But as you are specialist engineer, so you can say me that is there any possibility of screen damage for the cover if it's very tight on corner. I'm asking you because you know the architecture of the internal components, so you can suggest me what to do and what not to, so that I don't have to visit the service center again and again.

 

And again, is there any possibility that update is damaging screen?

 

And, if the screen becomes totally off like it was, how can I reset? Any way?

Any accessories like covers or back cases that are too tight when placed on a device have a possibility of providing hardware concerns in it which is why we are advising you to get in touch with the manufacturers itself to check as they're the ones that can answer your question/query if their item is made to be fully compatible with your Tab M10 FHD REL even if there are other users who's using it to their devices.

 

As for the update, updates are provided/released to devices in order to enhance its features and for security updates as well.

Updates aren't meant to be released to users to have their devices be damaged or be broken like its screen for example since issues on all devices cannot be the same and may base from every scenario.

 

Contacting our phone support is the best option that can be done if in case a machine or device should require repairs in the future as they're the ones that is/are certified to open it and have it be fixed as well.
