Re: Lenovo tab 2 A10-70F latest upgrade has bricked my tablet

Sad to say that doing either a hard or soft reset will only re install what OS you had installed previously, it will and cannot undo an OS upgrade, in otherwords if you started with KitKat and upgraded to Lollipop, you cannot revert back to KK, the only way to do that is to replace the firmware chip, unfortunately there is no way to effectively turn off the updates so the best alternative is to look for a different manufacturer that shows better product support and cross your fingers.

Re: Lollipop update for Tab 2 A10-70F

I wished I had known this latest update was lollipop..... Besides Chrome browser being slower loading up pages, volume being terrible, has anyone noticed it takes the tablet a long time to restart/start after being turned off?

I went thru evey program individually and cleaned all caches.  This slilghtly improved the volume, but still not good sound as with 4.4.2.  Also my machine takes longer to reboot/start up.  Sure wish I had read these posts before updating to 5.0.1.  And after all of this, still no replys from Lenovo

This is terrible what Lenovo is doing to his customers , how do they expect from us to buy or recommend their products in the future. At least to provide us to go back to KitKat

I'm having a similar problem where I get small sound/flat line presests out of atmos. But I have noticed a few things:

1) so far my speakers seem to work fine, but if I plug I headphones then the sounds goes small. If I unplug the headphones then the speakers give a small sound as well.

2) a simple restart of the tablet seems to make the headphones work. But I have to have them plugged in before restarting. After restart atmos defaults everything back to original and also my headphones volume back to default level and I have to use the rocker to get it back to what I like on the slider.

I hope they do indeed release an update that focuses on the sound and atoms to make it stable.

Dwflo,

Which adaptor did you buy? I didn't know you wanted Ethernet...

Justine

I purchased The OTG to micro USB adapter, to use with the Trendnet TU3-ETG usb 3.0 Ethernet adapter.

Thanks again,

Dwflo,

Is that the one with micro usb? I think the ethernet adaptor needs power but I'm not sure. I've ordered a cable but I have no adaptor or need for one. Just a guess but that's what I'm thinking.

Re: Lollipop update for Tab 2 A10-70F Support is horrible!

2015-08-02, 1:01 AM

I purchased 6 of these tablets (Tab 2 A10-70) for some employees of my small company. I first tried to purchase on the Lenovo website but it wasn't working properly so I went to the largest and most complete Best Buy store in the greater Phoenix, AZ area. Some of the Best Buys are smaller boutique stores, some are poorly managed and thus they have poor inventory or displays that do not work...anyway. The manager at store A agreed with me that Lenovo has horrific customer support. I told Best Buy I could not even get a reply or response of any kind out of Lenovo. I also felt duped, deceived, and mislead by Lenovo's claims there is was a combo case/keyboard available as an accessory for this product. That specific combo case/keyboard is still advertised after 4 months on the page featuring the Tab 2 A10-70. That manager told me Best Buy is considering dropping some of the Lenovo line. The manager offered to provide me full refund for all 6 tablets, and I could pick something else. At first we decided we could live with Lenovo's deceit and ineptitude. However we made the mistake of downloading the Lollipop 5.0.1 upgrade and several items no longer work or even turn on. One is the Google Play Store and the other is the Google Services application. Will probably round up the tablets this week unless we can get a fix. I also obtained the C-level North American Lenovo Division names as well as the key board members at the home offices in China. My spouse is an attorney and we will craft a nice letter. It is shame what Lenovo has done to the former IBM name. I feel most people on this ste agree they make good products but it ends there. I'm taking my 6 tablets back Monday. The window of return expired but the manager agreed Lenovo is a mess.

We should all return and where return period has expired - demand a return. After all we as individuals are customers of the respecitive vendor we purchased the product from. Remember that is the "key wording" in contract law.

In turn, the retail outlet or online store is the customer of Lenovo in the legal sense.  Have your store, be it Amazon, Best Buy.....put the pressure on Lenovo.  Having someone tell you you have to pay extra to get what you expected when you bought the tablet is pure nonsense. It also borders on being plain unethical.
