How do we confirm if we're on the 5 Ghz band?

I am pretty tech savvy and I really wanted to like this tablet - the beautiful screen, the nice CPU, Dolby atmos. I evenmade my peace with the fact that they stripped user accounts from Android 5.0 (I originally bought it for my young daughter but decided to leave it for myself). Well, it takes so much time to get anything to work on this thing , WLAN is constantky dropping the connection, and Dolby Atmos is so poorly implemented (low sound, conflicts with other music players etc) that it is just not worth it! Even for $200. I am returning mine. Good thing I bought it via Amazon and their return are very painless.

Dwflo,

Is that the one with micro usb? I think the ethernet adaptor needs power but I'm not sure. I've ordered a cable but I have no adaptor or need for one. Just a guess but that's what I'm thinking.

Are You referring to ethernet adapter? It has the standard usb "otg" male. Forgive me for my ignorance with all of these "plug" descriptions. Hard to keep of with the constant definition changes!

Re: Lollipop update for Tab 2 A10-70F

Being now a former Lenovo victim I bought a random RCA Viking Pro 10 inch tablet, costs much less but now suffers the same problems as the Lenovo again....after it updated .

I have bought and returned many brand tablets and virtually all that involved Lollipop either crapped out when upgraded to Lollipop or upgraded thereafter, unfortunately the common thread is Lollipop and the fact that once an update is installed there is way to uninstall.

What we have is greedy manufacturers that are only interested in selling container loads of stuff to any sucker that will buy it and don' t even take the time to see if it works or at least meets a minimum standard, that would cost money!

Support is another issue or should we say the "illusion" of support which again is not Lenovo but a company hired by the distributor to satisfy the " requirement of "support" to meet retailer requirements so it will be a super minimal investment at best as we have all encountered when we pick up the phone and speak to Rahj or  his  phone name "Larry".

The so called manufacturer who in both Lenovo's case and RCA are simply distribution companies tied to Chinese manufacturers that are licensed to use another corporate name for brand recognition, the named companies never touch the product but simply collect a percentage ( their cut) of the overall sales....in the real world a business such as this is termed a "SCAM".

The best brands I have found because they do have a quality standard are Samsung and Apple and amazingly Amazon.

As far as any class action legal recourse, the first thing you have to prove is that you have been harmed in some way, next you need statutes in your country that protect the consumer from Chinese companies which don' forget are controlled by the Chinese government and for which the US no longer has any consumer protections thanks to Bush and especially Obama.

Best tool is simply NOT buy the product, quit buying price and buy the product  with the best confirmed user record.

So, why hasn' t Lenovo officially responded to the problems.....doing so would be acknowledgement of fault and or guilt pluse, this maybe Lenovo' s website but remember....they didn't make the product....check the manufacturer information on the box or manual.

I agree. I will have to try out the apple line.....  Been holding out for years, but they have such SATISFIED customers and a loyal following.

Guess Lenovo and RCA won't get up to par this decade...

The really absurd thing is, if the products simply had an uninstall feature for updates you could simply revert back to when it worked ....problem for the majority would be solved and returns and generally pissed off people would fall dramatically.

The tablets (all I have had) were mechanically good, it was the updates that kept trashing things and the lack of solutions by the makers which amount to nothing.

Remember one thing...Samsung and Apple have their tablets made in China.  These companies may have better customer service, but my experiance with Lenovo Customer Service has been positive. Like I`ve stated before, the blame goes to Google when the latest version of the OS is released with bugs, similar to my experiances with Microsoft Windows. Would be curious to know how Samsung owners are favoring this Lollipop update.

Seems it is so new, it takes these tablet suppiers/manufacturers in a rush to catch up. Just speculation on my part, but with my past experiances with Windows (8.1 the last), I have been using Linux for several years, the best at getting bugs worked out very quick.

I have had similiar experience with WINDOWS 8. Had to remove it altogether and am using windows 7. So with your past experience with Lenovo, is it in your opinion that they will release an 5.1 or some sort of fix?
