M10 Tab won't connect to wifi, bluetooth

2019-10-06, 4:42 AM

Hi there,

We've just installed the new update to the M10 Tablet. Now, the tablet will not connect to either WLAN or bluetooth. WLAN connections appear, but clicking on them and entering the password only allows us to "save" connections, but not actually connect to them.

We have tried resetting the tablet and resetting WLAN settings, including a hard reset.

All other devices are able to connect to everything else via bluetooth and WLAN, so the problem is with the tablet.

This has rendered the tablet unusable and we've been unable to find any solutions online. Hoping someone knows of a fix soon.

Hi, finally found the fix.  The update changed the security settings for your wifi connection to WPA and your WLAN ant home is probably the wpa2psk only. Go into your modem/router section and change to wpa+wpa2psk and it will connect .

You need to access your modem, which you can do on your PC, and change your wifi, change to wpa+wpa2psk and it will connect .

hoping that switching to wpa+wpa2 wireless security helps most folks but my Tab4 10 was the only device that kept dropping the signal using that configuration setting. i finally tweaked the wireless to wpa2 only and AES (no TKIP) and presto! i'm actually getting a more stable and faster connection! sooo, i guess troubleshooting sometimes doesn't just resolve an issue, it could make things better than before :-)

That's a bit ridiculous that I need to change the settings on my router in order to fix a problem with the tablet. None of my other devices have trouble with my router set-up.

Hopefully Lenovo patches this soon, although it all sounds like it is more trouble than it is worth.

Agreed. My router allows either WPA2 (WPA encryption AES) OR WPA auto (WPA encryption TKIP +AES),  so in order to have connection I need to change the settings of my router and have a less secure network (I understand WPA2 is an improved version of WPA) and slower.  Please amend this in the following update.
