Physical Keyboard doesnt detect holding keys

I have a M10 Tab FHD Plus TB-X606F and I'm having an issue with any physical keyboard detecting the keys being held down.


For example if I type a sentence or paragraph and try to erase it by holding down the backspace key, it will usually only delete one letter at a time, or it will get halfway through deleting the sentence and stop. This also happens when trying to repeat any number or letter key by holding the key down. This issue seems to be random when typing as it may work normally for a few seconds or a minute at a time, then go back to not working again.


This also causes issues in Chrome or any other browser when using the arrow keys to scroll through a page. If I'm scrolling down a page using the down arrow key on the keyboard it will randomly stop scrolling.


My primary use for this tablet is remote or cloud gaming through apps like Parsec or Steam Link. As movement in most games with a keyboard is controlled by holding W A S D keys, not properly detecting when the keys are being held down makes the apps unusable.


I have tried 4 different keyboards, 3 bluetooth, 1 wired through USB OTG, and it always has the same issue. All of these keyboards work normally when connected to my phone or PC.


I have opened a ticket with Lenovo support and have received an automatic response with instructions to mail the tablet to a service center. I am not sure if someone at customer support will reply to my ticket before I mail in the tablet, or if I am intended to sent the tablet now.


I am not sure if sending the tablet in for repair will do any good as I believe this is a software issue possibly caused by the Android 10 update, and it may be possible for Lenovo to resolve this with a future software update.


I have already tried factory resetting the tablet and have tested it with no third party apps installed, still experiencing the same issue.

Just to ask, are you using an app to configure the keyboard's settings when connected to the Tab M10 FHD Plus either wired or Bluetooth?

If yes, try to check its settings then see if there's an option to change the keyboard's typing/stroke rate when a certain key is pressed.
