Problem was an incomplete file download. I have the new ROM up and running but suspect that I may have had the same problem with gapps as Play Store, GMail, Chrome not working. Off to XDA to re-download gapps.

I downloaded and installed the gapps without Picasa and it's working except GMail was broken. Uninstalling and reinstalling worked. However in re: the difference between the two gapps versions through krook's XDA page I noticed that the Picasa version is only 4 MB while the Signed version is about 80. Is it possible that the download site has a bad copy of the Picasa version? Also, what are the differences between the two gapps versions?

Thanks for all the work!!!

The only question I have is - has anything been figured out regarding the MAC address issue?

@Right, as pointed out, the CM10 version seems to be working fine with regards to all the WiFi stuff - MAC address, connection speed, shows the highlighted signal indicator in the tray, etc.   But if you are on JB AOSP, those features are not working, and there doesn't seem to be much indication from khanning that he's pursuing any further releases.

Krusty, did you download the latest gapps package (20121011), or the 2012726?  If you're on CM10 v6, you really ought to use the latest.  If you need a copy, you can find it (along with md5 signatures) on RootzWiki: http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/Google_Apps

By "Picasa version", I assume you mean the additional patch to update Gallery to have Picasa Sync enabled (it also disables some advanced features on the standard Camera app).  It is just a small package that only updates Gallery; it does not contain all the gapps.  It's also on Rootzwiki, and should be applied after you install the base gapps package.

Misunderstood it to be a variant gapps pkg. If I install the picasa pkg can I roll it back if I don't like it?

To "roll it back", I think you'd have to just reinstall the base (latest) gapps package.

The "Picasa package" is actually a modified version of the Google Android Gallery app that restores the capability of automatic syncing between your Gallery and your online Picasa photo albums - however, it also reduces the settings options available in the Camera app (but on the plus side, prevents a crash in the Camera app when trying to change photo resolution).

The package is available at the RootzWiki link in the post below, along with the latest gapps.

Update: and , I just happened to look at the first entry on the CM10 thread over on xda-developers, and there is in fact a full gapps package with the Picasa update in it.  Krook must have put it out there on the last update.  So you can either apply the base gapps and then patch it with the Picasa package on RootzWiki, or you can use Krook's integrated package to do it in a single update.  My mistake.

Can I install CM10 without wiping the entire tablet? And where would I find the link to it without searching through the entire thread?

Thanks in advance!

Whether you have to wipe the tablet or not depends on what you have on the tablet now, but basicially, if you are not already on some version of CM10, the answer is yes, you'll have to wipe, so back up your apps.

This really isn't the CM10 thread, but we don't have a separate Jelly Bean CM10 thread on the Lenovo forums.  Instead, you need to look at the links and instructions in the first entry in this thread over on xda-developers:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1825176

If you have a ROM that already has the ClockWorkMod (CWM) recovery mode included, you can upgrated directly to the latest version of CM10.  Otherwise, you may have to nvflash CM10 v2 first, then use CWM to upgrade to v6.
