i've got 2 questions. (1) do i need to install another apx driver if i'm going to upgrade to the jb/aosp or can i still use the one i previously installed to upgrade to ics/aosp?, and (2) is there going to be a non rooted version of the jb/aosp? my k1 is currently running on the non rooted version of ics/aosp.

Re: [ROM][JB][AOSP] Lenovo Ideapad K1

Hi All,

Tried running the install last night. I'm running WIndows Vista instead of Windows 7 (not sure if that is the big problem), with stock HC 3.2 non-rooted. When I hooked the K1 in APX mode, a windows pop up came up to find the APX driver. I browsed the files and choose the extracted file folder "drivers".  Windows could not find the driver to install, something about Nvidia USB file not found....

I did try a a few different folders in the extracted folder to no avail although the message changed from the Nividea USB error to a more general file not found.

I'm kinda of new to all this so any help would be great....

Michael

Problem with reconnecting on wake

2012-08-22, 23:23 PM

Trying this one out, and it looks really good.

One glitch I've come across (don't know if anyone else has this problem):

I keep my wifi set to "keep wifi on only when plugged in" to conserve battery power.

If I manually put the tab to sleep and it sleeps for awhile, it does not reconnect automatically.  The only way to reconnect to my router is to reset the wifi in settings.  If I wake the tab within a few minutes, it's fine.

I assume it has to do with the ROM as it reconnected fine with the prior stock HC upon waking.

I've downloaded the two ROMs but the MD5 sums were not different.

Mines are:

K1_JB_AOSP.zip

25F84B47420098D8C54195D84B3E13E3

CWM_K1_JB_AOSP.zip

A181E34BF0954A3E26DB8F58592D0108

Could anyone check that? Thanks.

I was getting the same MD5 for the first one, and had asked about it earlier in the thread, but no response.  Anyway, I took the leap of faith last night and did the upgrade direct from stock HC to this ROM (using the first one with the nvflash upgrade method), and it went really well.  No real problems, and most everything seems to work (other than known issues), and so far all of my apps are compatible.  And MUCH, MUCH smoother.   I really like it.  Thanks, Kreg!!!!

Many thanks for this. This runs much faster and smoother than the ICS builds. Just a couple things that I've noticed on my k1
The WiFi signal strength indicator does not show any bars in the task tray (it works fine in settings)

The cameras are unable to adjust brightness. Resolution also looks slightly low.

Again, thanks so much for keeping the k1 current!!!

On the topic of the WiFi strength indicator, I also have the issue with no bars in the icon on the task tray.  I also use WiFi Manager, and it may be a related problem that it always shows a connection speed of -1 on the WiFi network list, and no connection speed in the widget.
