Anybody else try to play WMA files under JellyBean?  None of the players I have tried can play them.  My entire music collection is WMA 192kbps, and I would love to find some way to play them!  I've tried RealAudio, WinAmp, RocketPlayer, Apollo, and AmazonMP3.

This JC AOSP ROM is much quicker/snappier than the ICS AOSP version that I was previously running.  I did the update via CWM and it was painless, never had to set up everything from scratch or reload any programs.

So far, the only hiccups I have seens is the "blank" wifi icon for signal strength, the permanent drop of wifi if you set the wifi mode to off while "asleep", and the other noted items from the first post.

All in all, I am happy with it.  I have not tested the CM10 versions yet for comparision.

Is there anyway to get Google Search installed?

Thanks

First I want to thank khanning, great job!

I have the same question question as ronimus, can I simply get the latest apk and sideload? I noticed that unlike the nightly CM10 (and gapps) that I've loaded on my Samsung Fascinate, AOSP is missing Search (and as a result Google Now)...

1) download the Gapps from here : http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip

2) save it to your micro SD Card

3) Place the mirco SD Card into K1

4) with the tablet booted, enter Recovery via long press of Power, and select "Reboot" then "Recovery"
5) Flash the gapps package that you downloaded

6) Reboot

I was able to sideload Google now (and search bar) by sideloading this app...  M7 version worked for me fine

I am sure there are other versions as well...

I've downloaded the two ROMs but the MD5 sums were not different.

Mines are:

K1_JB_AOSP.zip

25F84B47420098D8C54195D84B3E13E3

CWM_K1_JB_AOSP.zip

A181E34BF0954A3E26DB8F58592D0108

Could anyone check that? Thanks.

I was getting the same MD5 for the first one, and had asked about it earlier in the thread, but no response.  Anyway, I took the leap of faith last night and did the upgrade direct from stock HC to this ROM (using the first one with the nvflash upgrade method), and it went really well.  No real problems, and most everything seems to work (other than known issues), and so far all of my apps are compatible.  And MUCH, MUCH smoother.   I really like it.  Thanks, Kreg!!!!

You mean you get 25F84B47420098D8C54195D84B3E13E3 for K1_JB_AOSP.zip?

I downloaded twice and the MD5s are always 25F84B47420098D8C54195D84B3E13E3

zacling, yes, it appears I am getting the same MD5 as you for the K1_JB_AOSP.zip download (as per my post earlier in this thread, on 8/19).

And I have installed it via the nvflash method, and it seems to be working fine.

prfstrkr, thanks for the suggestion, flashing gapps (although weren't they already included with AOSP) did the trick.

Thanks!
