Re: [ROM][JB][AOSP] Lenovo Ideapad K1

Does the Gallery app work for anyone? While it does show the images on the device, it does not show any of my Picasa web albums nor my instant uploads...

Thanks!

Not for me, either, but I was thinking I might need to change something in the Gallery Settings, since I have more than one Google account.  However, when I select Settings, I get a screen with a Settings title bar and nothing else.  You, too?

This functionality may have been merged into Google+, as I can now access my Picasa albums via the Google+ app.

Functionality is there, but Google+ is significantly slower.

Re: [ROM][JB][AOSP] Lenovo Ideapad K1

I'm running krook's CM10 ROM and am having a slightly different problem with WiFi. I noticed my battery was not lasting as long as it did with HC, so I enabled the 'disconnect wifi when asleep except when plugged in' option. Now putting the tablet to sleep and immediately waking it up isn't a problem, the WiFi reconnects to my network and works fine. But if I put the tablet to sleep for 10-15 minutes, then press the power button, it does not wake up. No signs of life at all. Nada. I have to long press the power button to force the tablet off, then power it on again. That's a pain, so back to enabling WiFi all the time. Is anyone else using CM10 and seeing the same issue? On the plus side, with CM10 the WiFi indicator works fine in the notification bar.

Also, someone mentioned problems with jittery HD video playback with the JB AOSP ROM. I can report that 720p video plays back fine with CM10 using the default video player or MX Player. 1080p video on the other hand is quite jittery.

mooselord, I run with the JB AOSP ROM, and also with the "disconnect....except when plugged in" option.  So far, no lockup problems on sleep, plugged or unplugged.  Interesting that the WiFi indicator works in the CM10 build, though.  Hmmmmm.

I'm not having any problems with video playback on JB AOSP.  Selecting the right video/audio (baseline) encoding can be important, but I've actually never had playback problems on any of the K1 Android versions.  I do admit, though, that I don't typically play 1080p video (kind of a waste on the K1 unless you are trying to have it play to a TV via HDMI, and requires a pretty good broadband rate if streaming).

Re: [ROM][JB][AOSP] Lenovo Ideapad K1

Installed Jellybean last night and everything seems to be pretty smooth and responsive.

One item of note - under the general settings for wi-fi, when I click on advanced my MAC address is listed as unavailable, this was not the case when I had ICS and honeycomb installed. The same goes when I check under the About Tablet status. I am also getting a bluetooth address unavailable message. Sorry if this topic has been already covered.

Any ideas why this is so? And how can I find the address again?

ds77, yeah, the MAC address also seems to be a victim of whatever mismatch in the WiFi instrumentation that is also messing up the signal strength and connection speed.  I'm wondering if it's something like a difference in the object definitions between AOSP and the other builds.

Anyway, if you have the WiFi Analyzer app (and if not, you should), it seems to have the information.  Perhaps it uses it's own instrumentation and somehow bypasses whatever is mismatched.

mclandytm, where do you see the mac address of the wifi adapter in the "Wifi Analyzer" app? It shows the mac address of the access points you can connect to, but I don't see the adapters mac address. I also tried the "Phone Info" app and it also has no mac address. I was able to check the mac address by logging into my router and checking. You can also check by typing "ip addr" the the Terminal Emulator app...
