Right_Mouse_Click Not Going Back: Fix in Next Update

2021-06-10, 16:23 PM

I'm a coder and very techie.

I tried several Bluetooth Logitech mouse models.

Standard behavior for ALL Bluetooth mouse models is that:

Right_Mouse_Click on all Bluetooth mouse types are the same as pressing the BACK BUTTON of Android stock menu.

This is a huge horrendous fault.

Many in online forums are complaining.

This slows down use of tablet for professional users drastically.

Very surprising from Lenovo who are coders' favorite manufacturer.

Please fix it in the next update.

Welcome to the Community Forums @ washere!

Thanks for posting here!

What type of Lenovo device are you using?

Please share here the device's MTM (machine type-model) number for us to check its specifications?

It can be seen through the device's label/sticker or its original packaging and does usually have a format of 8********R as an example.

Also, does the Bluetooth mouse works the same when paired on other devices?

How about when using a different Bluetooth mouse from a different brand, do you also encounter the issue?

Thanks,

Adriel_Lenovo

Hi Adriel,

Thanks for your reply.

Your questions are not really relevant as this is a well known issue with many Lenovo systems, but I will answer them.

It happens with multiple Lenovo devices and most if not all Bluetooth mouse models.

As reported by others too.

My Android Lenovo devices currently are:

Lenovo Tablet M10 FHD Plus

Model: Lenovo TB-X606F

And:

Duet Chromebook 128gb

Model: Lenovo CT-X636F

And yes, it's supposed to be the same standard function (right_mouse_click = Go_Back) in ChromeOS as in Android too, just like everyone else.

I threw away the boxes with the barcode. But this issue affects these two models and more.

And it's not just Logitech mouse models, I also tried Microsoft Bluetooth mouse models and other brands too. Same problem with my friends device as he told me.

This is not my problem.

This is a generic Lenovo problem.

And as I said I am a coder for decades. And others I know report the same issue.

And my devices have latest updates.

etc etc etc.

The problem is with the Lenovo Android OS releases and their coders.

Many apps will not function as a result.

Right mouse click to function as going BACK is standard on Android.

It is indispensable.

Your coders should enable the function as do all major hardware makers do on their Android devices.

Logitech and Microsoft are the biggest makers of Bluetooth mouse models globally. Your devices' right_mouse_click should function as Go_Back on Android devices like your competitors devices do as standard. Your devices do not function properly on other Bluetooth mouse makers either.

The problem is not me or users.

The problem is not Bluetooth mouse models as you indicate.

The problem is not mouse makers.

The problem is Lenovo Android OS coding.

It is faulty and missing a basic feature used by millions of coders globally who develop apps using a Bluetooth mouse.

This is a Google Android standard definition:

Right_Mouse_Click = Go_Back as standard in Android global bottom Toolbar

If you fix this big Lenovo problem in the next update, I will reply and thank you again.

P.S.

Your coders can learn about this standard function online,  for example:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/4649508/trigger-back-button-functionality-on-button-click-in-android#4649616

And many more links and Android reference knowledge bases too.

Thanks for responding @ washere!

Usually, Lenovo Android devices as well as Chromebooks does have their USB-C connectors only capable of power delivery, data transfer and OTG and DisplayPort to some.

With this, it would be advisable to get in touch with the third party accessories manufacturer to check if it's fully compatible with the machines since the full functionality might not be available if in case paired with the devices.

There are some devices as well like the IdeaPad Duet Chromebook for example that have its own dedicated port to connect the keyboard that came along with it as well.

You may view their complete specifications through the links below:

Re:Right_Mouse_Click Not Going Back: Fix in Next Update

2021-06-14, 19:25 PM

Thanks for your reply Adriel.

YOUR 3 New POINTS ARE COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT TO MY THREAD either.

1) Nothing to do with cable connections, USB or type C or OTG etc.

Nothing to do with CABLES.

2) As I said before, nothing to do with third party or manufacturers devices.

3) NOTHING TO DO WITH KEYBOARDS.

OR OTHER DEVICES etc.

MY 3 Main POINT IN THIS THREAD IS:

I ENUMERATE them in Roman NUMERICAL, so Lenovo managers see the problem without sophistry, waffle, diversions etc.

i) Right_Mouse_Click as standard on Bluetooth mouse models does not work on Lenovo.

THE MAIN 2 STANDARD FUNCTIONS OF BLUETOOTH MOUSE IS:

LEFT_MOUSE_CLICK = CLICK

RIGHT_MOUSE_CLICK = GO_BACK

WHERE GO_BACK IS THE BOTTOM TOOLBAR MAIN FUNCTION ON ALL ANDROID DEVICES.

SECOND MOST USED FUNCTION ON ALL ANDROID DEVICES AFTER CLICK.

POINT 2 is:

ii) NO BLUETOOTH MOUSE MODEL RIGHT_MOUSEFCLICK CURRENTLY WORKS with Lenovo tablets I and my friends own.

Same with your Chromebooks we have.

We are looking time coders, decades of programming. So please no runaround diversionary basics which have nothing to do with this thread.

This means, let me spell it out again as I did in pervious posts in this thread:

ii-a) NO CABLES, USB PORTS etc. We're talking about Bluetooth mouse models.

ii-b) Not other Bluetooth devices, KEYBOARDS etc either.

JUST BLUETOOTH MOUSE devices.

Point 3 is:

iii) NO BLUETOOTH MOUSE MODEL WORKS ON THE SEVERAL LENOVO TABLETS & CHROMEBOOKS me & my coder friends have tried.

Because your Android image has set no trigger event for Bluetooth mouse events.

So no BLUETOOTH MOUSE models in this universe will work.

MY COMPLAINT AGAINST YOU IS:

EITHER:

YOU DON'T READ MY POSTS.

AS YOUR POINTS ARE COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT.

IN FACT I SPECIFICALLY SAID THIS IS THE CASE FOR BLUETOOTH MOUSE & ALL MODELS. SO NOTHING TO DO WITH PARTICULAR MODELS.

THEN YOU REALLY ABOUT CABLES, MANUFACTURERS, KEYBOARDS ETC.

OR:

YOU DID READ MY POSTS, AND BASICALLY REALLY ABOUT DIVERSIONARY SUBJECTS WHICH HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH MY THREAD AND/OR HAVE ALREADY BEEN DISMISSED ADD IRRELEVANT AS I PROVED: mouse models irrelevant as your image will not right_click any event for any Bluetooth mouse as I said Often.

In either or both case:

This attitude of:

a) not addressing our points

b) diverting complaints by your customers, or bug reports or issues, to complete nonsense irrelevant subjects

c) pretending what you bring up is new, whereas they're already dismissed as IRRELEVANT (mouse models etc).

Not only this is disrespect of your customers in a systematic way.

But it also wastes very expensive hourly times of users.

I hope Lenovo managers look into the ethics of this forum and how customers are mistreated systematically and regularly.

When all they try to do is provide feedback on basic amateurish coding errors. For which you would have to pay huge some to consultants.

This is really foolish on many business levels, and in this day and age extremely rude and disrespectful to people.

I hope someone flags this thread and forum to high levels managements within Lenovo organization.
