Tab 4 10 Plus constant reboot problem

Hi all, i bought a Tab 4 10 Plus 2 months ago. It reboots constantly while i am surfing the net, watch videos, and when i wake it up.  It also reboots when i launch Chrome or Playstore.  Pop up error messages says 'Play Services has stop, or Chrome has stop, or Map has stop' etc...  I did a Factory reset but doesn't solve the problem.  I only use the tablet for reading/surfing/watching dramas, nothing intensive.  Any one with similar issues?  Any solutions?  Thanks.

Hi, I have this same exact issue! It started right out of the box. First reboots happened during first time setup. Tried everything, updated firmware, factrory reset from settings and also reset + clear cache from recovery mode but nothing worked. I ended up sending it to Lenovo service. Service has completed and I'm waiting to get it back. I really hope it's fixed but for some reason I fear the worst. The thing is it's not always so obvious, because it might take even 20-30min before reboot in normal use and sometimes it boots right after I turn it on. You're the first I see with this same issue, glad to hear I'm not the only one. I'll let you know if it's fixed when I get it back, should be soon.

You have described my problems exactly!  Mine reboots directly after switching it on, repeats for a few times, and then stablises, followed by messages like 'Play Services has stop', or 'Google has stop' etc etc.  Sometimes i can surf the net for awhile before it reboots.  The tablet itself is great, just the software leaves much to be desired.  I will be bringing it down to the service centre this weekend, see what Lenovo can do about it (although i am extremely doubtful).  Wishing you the best : )

Were any of you able to get this resolved?  My organization purchased 200 of these devices, and of the first dozen that we have unboxed almost all of them are randomly rebooting.  The only difference in what I have observed is that I'm not getting stop errors for any apps.  We have factory reset them and just let them sit (after initial setup).  They still reboot even with nobody using them.

Sorry to hear that. I never got the reboot problem solved. My tablet was sent to Lenovo service twice and all they did was a factory reset on both times. Can you believe it? I ended up returning it to the online store for a refund just two days ago. Lenovo's rank dropped way down for me, I'm amazed how their own official service completely ignores the possibility that it's a hardware fault instead software. Maybe somehow it could be a software issue but they're still unable to do anything about it. A Lenovo product is not going to be a choice for me in the near future, that's for sure. I'm sorry to break the bad news for you but you're in the US so maybe you'll have better luck with their service. Mine was sent to Lenovo service in Germany.

hi, i sent my tablet in for repair, they said motherboard issue, replaced the entire board, took 3 weeks as they needed to send in the board from somewhere. I got it back last week. So far no more rebooting issue, managed to watch my videos, youtubes, browse internet, read ebooks without problem.  BUT, customer service totally crap. Anyway, i dont have any hope for lenovo products (my 2 months old lenovo laptop was faulty too). Will go back to samsung from now on.  Hope your problem gets solved too. cheers linda.

Hi guys ,

 

I m not alone , Exactly the same problem since one week :(

At the beginning , I believed that I made a wrong manipulation but now , the reboot happens more often.

I m really dispointed by Lenovo (still not android 8)

tab 4 10 plus bought christmas 2017 , only 3 months and already a problem :/

 

Tomorrow , I ll return my tablet to the store where I bought it , i really hope a replacement or a refund.

Are all of you connected to cellular when the problem occurs?  I'm chasing down one theory that the reboots only occur on devices in which an active SIM (AT&T) is installed.  It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm connected to wifi - as long as the SIM is installed, the device is prone to rebooting randomly. 

 

I took one test group of 5 tablets out of their boxes, charged them up, and have let them sit for the past few weeks.  None of them have rebooted a single time.

 

I set up another group of 5 with active cellular, and each of them have rebooted at least once (no third-party apps installed).

 

Next I'm going to try testing with a different carrier.  I'll post my result.

I get this too on the 4 8 plus

 

Mine does it at weird times.... when its sitting and your not even using it it does it alot with 1 game, where's my water.

 

its quite annoying i think these tablets are cheaply made.
