Tab 4 8 - Kids Mode - Apps being disabled

2018-01-03, 9:13 AM

So I have set up the tablet with two extra Kids Mode accounts (though would still prefer a standard Android Restricted User), and now have a problem.

I have downloaded and installed a few apps from the play store, which I have enabled by going in to the Parental Control section, and placing a tick next to them in the Apps menu. My kids can then use the app.

However, randomly, the app will just disappear from their home screen. I can navigate back to the Parental Controls section, where I discover for that app, there is now a cross, and I have to re-tick the app. This will then work for a random time, before once again being disabled.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks, but the issue doesn't appear to be with the Play App - I can access the Play app okay, and can install the apps - they even appear in the list of available apps in the Parental Control section. Its just that Kidoz disables them from appearing on the kid's homescreen.

I, too, have this problem. Although it seemed random to me as well, I now think it happens when an app gets/is updated by/in Google Play store.

So, it might be handy (although not secure and wise probably) to disable automatic updates. (And I do not know if automatic updates can be disabled at all by the way.)

Can you confirm the observed randomness is in fact an update of the app?
