Thanks for the input. I got my Lenovo direct from Lenovo Website. I will check as it maybe just a case of downloading again.

I've been getting this since the new update at start of year, it's so annoying I notice it more when I'm using Spotify so annoying! I wish I took the **bleep** tablet back there's just to many problems.... To late now.

Hi. Since forcing the latest patch (1 March 2018) my Tab has settled down. I have seen about 4 wifi drop outs but used it wuite heavily since it arrived. I am happy. Its very fast and the screen quality is outstanding. Thanks to all who replied and helped appreciated. I wonder if Lenovo Techs look here as their comments would also be appreciated. :-)

Unfortunately the situation for me isn't so optimistic. I bought mine with the May 18 ROM, but wifi connection has been absolutely dreadful (both on 5 & 2.4Ghz bands). I have resorted to rolling back to the Nov 17 ROM. The result is yet to be seen... But certainly I don't think the issue has been sorted universally. I am eagerly waiting for a definitive fix from Lenovo.

I have been following this thread because I recently encountered a similar problem with a Tab4 10 Plus. When I bought this tablet in January there was no problems with wifi and then a couple of months ago the 5GHz band became very unstable and unusable. I tried all the fixes I could think of, deleting network profiles in the device and client profiles in the router etc but nothing seemed to help. I hadn't used it for a couple of weeks until 2 days ago when I started it up and found that wifi is now back to normal and I'm getting full speed stable connections in the 5GHz band. The only thing that has happened in the intervening period is that there was a power failure in my neighbourhood for about 30 minutes which would have restarted the router, of course this might be a coincidence. Anyway all is good now.

 

My router reports on client properties and gives the following for the Tab4 10 Plus:

max data rate possible: 433/433 Mb/s

Channel bandwith: 80 Mhz

Streams: 1x1

Signal properties: STBC, MU-MIMI, Supports 5GHz

Quality of Service: WMM

@Schintzel, My Tab 4 10" Plus was also afflicted with 5GHz connection problems when I first received it and I posted about them in another thread on this forum. In my case, though, the issues were resolved with an upgrade to the firmware on my router (Netgear X10/R9000). My tablet has been working flawlessly for a week and a half now; before the router upgrade I couldn't maintain a connection for more than a minute or two.

I had the same problem with my tab 4 8 (Not Plus). I think the problem is it switching back and forth between the 2.4g and 5g networks since both may have the same broadcast name. I called my internet company and had them add a "-2g" to the end of my network name in the router for the 2.4g wifi and add "2g" to the end of my network login for 2.4g wifi password but left the 5g the same as it was. Fixed the problem for me.

Thanks for this post, our Lenovo started dropping wifi today and we had a power failure this morning which I didn't link to it.  I just reset the router and it seems to be working fine now :)  Must have been some sort of conflict in the router.  :)
