Tab E10 - Power Up when Plugged into Power Adapter

2019-07-12, 15:25 PM

My brand new, one-day-old Tablet (E10) was just updated this morning (System Update, Android) and when left plugged in, it will not power up.  When I remove the Power plug, it will then power up.

How can I solve this before I resort to simply returning the unit to my retailer?   Again, I bought it yesterday, 11 July 2019.

Thanks, DJ

So if your tablet is being charged when powered off you can't turn it on unless you unplug it?

That is correct.  PLUGGED IN, I pushed the power button, normally it responds Immediately, and now even if I hold it in for 10 seconds, nothing happens.

Next step:  UNPLUG (post full charge) and pushing the power button makes it turn on as normal.  Thus, with power going to the power supply, there seems to be an interrupt to invoking a power-on sequence.

Strange.  This is our second Lenovo Tab unit.   The first one has a defective Mini-USB power port after three years of usage.

Thus, we bought another one.

Thanks for any input.   This is an unusual problem.

I know that some tablets need to be charged to at least 15% but for it to be completely charged and not being able to to power on if it's plugged in is strange

Thanks for this reply.  This issue is SOLVED.  I was holding downt the DOWN VOLUME button, and not the power button...very hard to tell which one I was pushing without a light on.

This is a closed case.

I purchased a Lenovo Tab E10 at Officeworks Albury NSW, Australia on June 22, 2019.
I am having trouble getting the tab to RESET to FACTORY settings.
I reached ANDROID recovery on the resetting application, Pressed Wipe data/factory reset, reboot system now waited until the LENOVO machine restarted. Thought it was OK..
But no it wasn’t
It went through CIRCLES, kept coming to “This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on the device."
I can log onto my Google Account on my computer at home...but not on this bloody tablet..WHY?? It is driving me CRAZY
