Winter...

I'm gonna give lenovo a rest for a few weeks, probably look into this again in april.
Shouldn't be too complicated to make a product that you already produce available to your customers? ha, then again...

Well their intention was forget k1 and concentrate on k2 with effort, financial and manufacturing aspects. We are the guinea pigs. Paying guinea, paying beta testers. Lol life is sweet for them.

They wont make it i can say with confidence. They said that probably to get you off their backs.

K1 failed miserably against its competition. I think they have written the k1 off already as a dead end product. They learnedat our expense acting as paying beta testers. Lol dead end products is at the bottom of their priorities

By this time they are concentrating on the k2 and might need new paying beta testers soon lol.

All,

I'm trying to help you, but I can't find any publications that shows what you are talking about .  My US K1 tablet came with an Ideapad tablet K1 quick start guide v1.0.  Nowhere on the last page is any mention of this mysterious host cable and nobody on the Idea team that I have spoken with has any knowledge of this.

I appreciate your frustration clearly as this discussion has now run on for 3 pages searching for exec emails to blanket over the weekend with the hope that it will stir us to action.  That might be a fair tactic if we ignored this thread, but that isn't the case.

Could you please take a picture of the section of the manual that you have and post it somewhere so I can see what was shipped with one of your K1 systems that indicates this cable?

Thanks!

Mark

Hello Mark

I am a snowbird in Florida, where I purchased my K1 from Staples.  I have the one sheet Quick Start Guide v2.0

P/N 148500404-2.1 in front of me.  I do not have a scanner here, so I can not give you a picture.  On the the last page that is headed UNPACK (and check the components) just above the Bar Code is a picture of the USB host cable.

I would like to purchase that cable.   Please advise when and where we can get it.

Herman,  VA3QX

Hello, Mark
Thanks for your efforts.  This link to Lenovo support describes the part in question and states that it should have been available in the US in late December 2011.
USB host cable
Also, the part is depicted on  the last page of the "Lenoo IdeaPad Tablet K1 Quick Start Guide, v2.0" that came with my (USA) K1.  The document's p/n is 148500404-2.1  I seem to be unable to attach a scanned image of the page.

VA3QX,

Thanks!   So, it seems like version 2.0 of the quick start guide (mine is version 1.0, p/n 148500135) includes reference to this.  I really appreciate the link to the support site - I was searching for "host cable" so appreciate the help in finding the docs on this.

Sinanju,

The pic link is broken for me, but I saw an earlier one in the thread...  It was helpful, but seeing it in the box as part of a ship group would be good.  Maybe you can recheck your link.

Anyway, having the P/N and support site page ref gives me what I need .    Please give me a couple days on this - I don't think it will be an overnight answer.

Thank you

Mark

So Mark, you didn't see the entry which followed yours of Feb 7?

You must be busy.

Mr. Hopkins frequently has reading comprehension issues.  Posts 7 and 8: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Slate-Tablets/A1-bug-reports-for-you-to-vote-on-for-solutions/td-p/616099/page/2
Bless his heart, though... if he manages to satisfy folks on this, the A1 GPS driver bug, and getting Android source for both tablets released as is right and proper... well, he might just start to make up for it.
