k1: alot of issues and months have passed still not a single one is fixed.

2012-01-24, 18:07 PM
Are they really going to fix this? I have no idea what their techs are doin since the k1 came out still they havent solve these issues. Is it long shot to ask for a rebate? Asus did it and the only thing that people are complaining is the gps.

Lenovo and their k1 is plaqued by problems but no word or assurance they will fix it.

I get the feeling the problems plaquing the k1 is unfixable and lenovo is just waiting for our warranty to run out while we are waiting for a fix that will never come.

Sorta makes one wonder, eh?

I have the same feeling too.

They just won't admit to their faults.

It's their responsibility to help the users fix all the problems.  I have this crappy device too, with so many problems that I don't want it anymore.  I just don't have the time to take it here and there to fix it.  Crap!

This is getting to be a darn long time, and it's a shame, because I'm starting to get sour on this tablet (and the darn thing has so much promise!)...

At the very least, the compass error  problem should not be that big of a deal to get straightened out (if someone is actually working on it!).

Think about it, can you even imagine buying a new car where everything works except it won't go into Drive and the manufacturer tells you that they're working on a fix for it, but for now just use 1st and 2nd gear? And you're supposed to just say, "ok, I understand you're having a few problems, I'll wait it out"...

If things weren't working, it shouldn't have been brought to market. That's a no-brainer (which is how I'm beginning to feel for having held on to it past the 14 days that Staples gave me to return it)...

C'mon Lenovo, I bought this because of your reputation with laptops. I had no idea you were going to leave this tablet hanging in the wind...

That reputation was earned by IBM a very long time ago.  Lenovo hasn't been producing that kind of product for a while:

Other than the compass, that is the only problem listed on this thread, can you be more specific as to what problems plague your tablet?

I have had no problem at all with mine since I got it over a month ago. Maybe we can compare notes....

For me, it's just the compass. That said, for me the compass is a really big deal as I have a number of apps that I use on my phone (with it's tiny screen) that I should be able to use on my tablet instead, and it's been broken for a very long time with no timeline or even a clue from Lenovo as to what is going on with it on their end. (Just try to get any info out of them, it doesn't happen...).

I'm not saying the K1 is without its problems, but many of the problems are not particular to the K1.  If you google 'android,' 'compass,' and 'problem,' you'd see there is a SIGNIFICANT amount of phones and tablets with the compass problem.  The same with the gps (most notably, the Transformer Prime, which is much more expensive - and the thought is that it can never be resolved because the problem lies in the aluminum casing.)

Even the fabled iPad is not without problems - so much so that I know a few people who have gone from iPads to Android tabs and are much happier.

Well thats the thing. Asus did acknowledge the fault with their transformer and in some places initiated a extnded warranty and rebate.

Lenovo doesnt even acknowledge the problems with their tablet. This is evident by the lack of release notes of their updates that would indicate what the things are being improved, fixed or addressed.

In short they are just telling people to suck it up.
