m10 fhd plus (TB-X606F) - hard reset from startup not working

I can't get my tablet (m10 FHD plus - TB-x606F) into recovery mode.  I turn it off, then restart by holding both the 'volume up' and the power button, but the only outcome I can get is that it progresses to the 'enter your PIN' screen.  The problem is that I have forgotten the pin.  I have also tried holding both the up and down volume keys and the power keys, but this doesn't seem to work either.

Any suggestions?

Re:m10 fhd plus (TB-X606F) - hard reset from startup not working

So, I have finally found out how to make it work.  Tried every combination I could think of.  Basically, it's as simple as holding down both 'up' and 'down' volume keys along with the power on button.  Once the Lenovo logo came up, I released the power button but kept the other two depressed.  Then the tablet started in recovery mode and I was able to select factory reset.

I mirror a concern expressed in another post.  After the reset is complete, the tablet wanted me to enter the previous pin (which I had forgotten in the first place - aaagh).  Fortunately, it was sufficient to enter in the Google account used with the device before, but then I had to go to another device on that account and accept the reset.

Hope this helps someone!
