You are trying to use the K1 as a monitor/display, which is not supported. It's a great idea though!

The port on the K1  is an HDMI output, not input. It's intended to connect to a HDMI monitor/display/TV so you can see what you're doing on the tablet on the bigger screen.

If you would like just to copy your pictures from a digital camera to your tablet, then you should use the micro-usb port instead of the micro-HDMI. I am not sure if K1 supports USB-host mode but you could give it a try using an appropriate micro-usb cable (make sure that one end fits the tablet micro-usb port while the other end fits your camera's port).

You might try the app AirDroid.  The app allow you to connect to the K1 sdcard via your home wifi with a PC and browser.

In the past, I've used a micro sd in my camera using an adapter.  Then when I want to transfer pictures, I pop the card out of the camera, remove the adapter, and pop the sdcard into the tablet.  From there, I sync with Picasa Web.  You, of course, can simply copy to internal storage.

Once sync'd, pop the card out of the tablet, back into its adapter and back into the camera.
