Hi

I got it from there http://download.lenovo.com/slates/a1/ICS_OTA/.

It appears and desappears don't know why. But right now it is there.

Re: A1 No three icons on bottom left of screen on ICS

It's actually a change needed to the framework-res.apk.

this needs to be added to values/config.xml

<!-- Separate software navigation bar required on this device. -->
    <bool name="config_showNavigationBar">true</bool>

<!-- Software blur is too slow on this device. -->
    <bool name="config_sf_slowBlur">true</bool>

Re: A1 No three icons on bottom left of screen on ICS

Thank you for your answer,

But I'm not an advanced user and  don't know where to find "framework-res.apk" and how to  modify it.

I have to say that my tablet is not rooted.

I've tried to root it some days ago with this

"Clockwork-Recovery temporarily install  (Fake-Flash).  Download http://a1.cu2.at/cwm5/update.zip (v5.0.2.7) and http://a1.cu2.at/A1_rooter.zip"

found on a forum, but it doesn't work.

Sorry not to be able to use your precious advice.

Thank you anyway.

Re: A1 No three icons on bottom left of screen on ICS

The files on the OTA downloads are test files and are not meant for everyone to use. They are for testing.

It is recommended to not play with them unless your a Dev or learning.

Peter, when can we expect an official release? Especially since Lenovo is now actually selling new units with ICS on them. They appear to be the exact same hardware.

Re: A1 No three icons on bottom left of screen on ICS

beetle,

The A1-07 model was sold in multiple regions, and shipped with Gingerbread (2.3) while  the A1-107 (Type 2228-C1U) model that is shipping with ICS preloaded is sold through Best Buy is a US only model and the OTAs that you are seeing are for that system and not the prior.

As there are no present plans to release multiple images, there won't be an OTA push of ICS for the existing A1-07 models.  I know that skillful people are able to load the image for the A1-107 model, and I expect that the ICS source files for the new A1 are in the process of being made available.

Perhaps something else may develop in the future, but that is where things stand today....

Best regards

Re: A1 No three icons on bottom left of screen on ICS

Well superb move Lenovo. Change the box and manual, load different image into same hardware , rise the price and leave customers who bought units earlier without possibility to update.

Luckily we have Google Nexus 7 with near same hardware and better CPU at same price already with 4.1 and newer versions in future.

Never again.

And we're back...

Move delayed but still coming
