When trying to install OTA it fails. The failure is detected during the update procedure ("glowing ring") have reached ~15% with the message: "Fail!" + an image of the Android robot. After the failure the device reboots and shows a notification about the failed installation.
(Afterwards to reapply the update the image needs to be redownloaded.)
Steps performed / to reproduce:
1. Factory reset the device by booting into recovery mode.
wipe data wipe cache
2. Configure device with bare minimum information.
No gmail account etc.
3. Navigate to system update apply update: (Shown in blue text)
4. Download the 1517mb
5. Press install button
6. Wait for reboot and error message to apear.
* The blue text showing version to be updated are missing the first to numbers in year, i.e. "20".
It does say "190528" instead of "20190528". Could this trigger a signature error on installation?

Same problem here! Contacted lenovo belgium where i live and they just said they can't help me... I should contact google since they're the ones who made the update...

Same issue, gets third of the way and comes up 'ERROR' and bails out of the installation.
Have tried downloading the update three times as thought file may be corrupt.
Why wouldn't we be surprised, No security updates and when Lenovo do release an update it is buggy and fails.

Same issue here - the notification of the update landed on my tablet last night (26 June). I tried to download and install it three times, same result each time; symptoms exactly as per OP. In each case, the 1.5 GB download completed succesfully, but during the reboot, it got part way through, and then the Android Robot appeared briefly with an error message, and the tablet rebooted into the previously installed version TB-X705F_S000037_20181220_ROW.

Hello there. I have the same problem here. Just bought a new device. First update went smooth. Second which is TB-X705F_USR_S200095_20190528_Q00332_ROW is failing exactly in the same way. Called local support and they can not help me remotely. They wanted me to send device to local service support.
