Thanks for excellent write up of the issue, this update certaily has a problem, as my tablet is doing exactly the same, already tried 3 times to update and waisted neally 5GB of band width in the process.
Model: Lenovo TN-X705F (Lenovo Tab P10)
Current version: TB-X705F_USER_S000037_20181220_Q00020_ROW

From Australia and I am having the same problem too. I just purchased last night.. my joy of getting a brand new tablet was short lived.. just a shame that lenovo doesnt even bother to respond to any of the threads even to acknowledge this issue or provide an update.. comeon lenovo gotta up your game if you wanna keep being competitive...I submitted an incident with them and yet to hear back.. hopefully they dont take forever

Same issue for me since three days - seems as if we need to wait for a new release. 😭🤪
My wife had no issues with updating her 3GB P10 three days ago 🧐.

Exactly the same problem here (Austria.. german version).
Tried it 3 times.
After downloading the update it says .. you have to restart.. etc..
Restarting does nothing, after restart I have a red point over the settings symbol..
I go to the system update page again and click install.... the update starts and after about 15% I get the error image.
..no update installed.
Are you sure anyone from LENOVO will read this? Or do we have to live without this update?

same issue here (TB-X705F, 3GB Ram, 32GB, German version). Tried it for more than three times now.
Lenovo is one of the biggest suppliers of hardware so I really hope that someone will read these messages. If so, I would appreciate to see a reaction that the team is aware of that issue (Lenovo, please share with us some information)!
Based on the German web site you can only get in contact with Lenovo by phone? I will do on monday and see what they say. If anybody did that already please share their reactions.
After half a year without security updates (Lenovo, please reconsider this update cycle) I was happy to get at least some update, but I am a kind a disappointed now.
Lets hope the best and I would like to encorage everyone to share any update information/reactions of Lenovo.
Looking forward to a revised update package!

HEADS UP, LENOVO!
Unbelievable that a company like Lenovo releases an uninstallable firmware update. I'm lost in the same trap. What about an ETA of an installable one?
