Got my 32Gb K1 two days ago.
Really had a hard time on opening the SD card door. Now understand what was in the reviews, 'Lenovo made it unnecessary difficult to open the SD card door'.
Watched the Youtube video several times, then I tried to poke the clip pin into the hole, tried different angles, the door just opened a little bit (like 0.5mm), could not open more.
Any tricks, what angle, how deep should the pin stick in? Do I need to push really hard?
If I can not open the door, I have to return it. I can tolerate software bugs, wait for updates. But without sd card function, there is no point to keep the unit. So frustrated now.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for replying.
I pushed many times, no sucess. Then I asked two others to try, both gave up.
We watched the Youtube video, it seems to push in an angle toward the sd card. No much force is needed.
Anyway, I may send the unit for depot service.

It is not a tray that pops out, it is more like a flap door. When you push the pin in, it releases a catch on the pin side allowing the cover to swing open. Pin side opens, opposite side has hinge.
Just looked at the mechanism, it only takes about 1 mm push. It is a simple lever, you push on one side (pin hole) and the other side pushes up under the side of the flap door, pushing it open as it is just friction fit.

Thanks. I will give a one more try. Once the door is open, I will leave it open for its rest of life.
Why does Lenovo make life so complicated? It seems that every review mention this stupid door.

It is much easier for the thief to just take the whole tablet. SD card is in almost every laptop, no other
laptop/tablet maker uses a door to guard it.

Gave a last try, poke straight into the hole, the door open slightly, but stuck. No enough area to pry the door open.
I believe the door fit too tightly with the frame, and get stuck. Going to have Lenovo replace the door or return to store.

If you try to open it the first time, yes, it is very tight. Once you got it the first time, it will be easier next time. AND the card can only be taken out by pressing IN for the spring to eject out. DO NOT pull the card. However, even if you let it sprung out, it is still a bit too deep to take out by fingers.

After reviewing the disassemble K1 video, I pried from the screen side to pop the door open.
The door seems poortly manufactured, use a sand paper to remove some material on door should help.
