Re: WiFi issue with Tab 4 8 Plus

I've just updated my TAB-8 plus (180906) and now, 5 GHz wifi is not even available. If the tablet can't connect to the 5 GHz wifi, it will never disconnect from that network. Genious!

Re: WiFi issue with Tab 4 8 Plus

Recently I also received an update (TB-8704X_S000042_180906_ROW) for my tab-8 and the first two days it seemed to work perfectly. But then the misery began again.

With the app "Wifi Band Switcher" installed on my tablet, I can leave my modem on '2.4GHz and 5GHz' (thank you Open Source Community and also thanks to danny67 for the tip), and my tablet continue to work on 2.4GHz. But it's a workaround not a solution! And in addition, every time I switch to a different Wi-Fi network, I have to set my frequency back to 2.4GHz via the app "Wifi Band Switcher".

Very unfortunate, because this is a great tablet, the irritating Wifi inconvenience left out of consideration.

Re: WiFi issue with Tab 4 8 Plus

I was having WiFi issues with my tab 4 10 which I just bought a month ago. I could connect to the 5ghz on my router but the connection gets lost in a few seconds. Thanks to you guys, I found out that it was a 5ghz issue. I connected to the 2.4ghz signal and my WiFi connection didn't drop at all. Weird thing is that, when I connected back to the 5ghz, the issue was gone. Don't know how switching fixed it, I rebooted and restarted several times before trying that. Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know that you've helped me, and I am thanking you all with all my heart. I hope your WiFi issues gets fixed as well.

Re: WiFi issue with Tab 4 8 Plus

I have a TB-8804F, and it seems to have the same problem: after connecting to a 5G wifi, it cannot even finish 1 test in SpeedTest, and after that you cannot reach any website, although the wifi says that it's still connected. The system is Android 7.1.1.

Have you guys tried to reset the network config by doing Settings -> More -> Network settings reset? After doing that, I was able to finish multiple tests in SpeedTest, and the network is still working. I'm not sure when it will break again, but at least it seems like that something has changed.
