Same here,  Wifi only version in the UK,  seems to be fine on 2.4Ghz, but drops out all the time on 5Ghz, build TB-X704F_S000053_180122_ROW.  Sometimes it will say theres no internet, sometime it looks fine, but isn;t connected.  Only ought it about a month ago and did all updates before starting to use it.

I'm seeing mixed results, the 5ghz network at work results in constant drops of connection, by the 5ghz network at home (virgin media hub 3) is fine,

My Tab 4 8 Plus has just upgraded to tb-8704f_s000036_180502_row

 

Does anyone know what this is meant to address ?

Does it help with the WiFi issues ?

Hi all fellow Lenovo users,

 

I can confirm that the latest update (.....180502_ROW) did not fix the 5GHz Wi-Fi problem! 

 

I wrote an e-mail to info@lenovo.com and I hope that it is a real Lenovo e-mail address. (it did not bounce so far) and that they will respond to it.

And if they answer my e-mail in any way, I'll keep you guys posted.

 

Lagging 5Ghz bandwith support is a no-go for me, and I am considering to return it back to the store (I can do that within 30 days @ www.coolblue. nl) if they do not respond by the end of the month.

I recently bought this tablet and was very happy and satisfied at the beginning.
 
After a few updates I am having problems with my 5Ghz connection, I am having a few devices that operates well the on the 5Ghz band,  without any issues.
 
The problem is when I do a speed test, the speed (I have an over 300 MBit account) builds up to 160MBit Max,  and immediately drops down to about 16 MBit and sometimes lower then that, and after a while the Wi-Fi connection shows connected but there is not really a Wi-Fi  connection anymore. 
 
On 2.4Ghz it's faster and stable, but I want to use full potential of my internet connection. (fair enough,right?)
 
I want this to be fixed, I already am running the latest firmware.  Did a check five minutes ago. 
 
Please fix this, I would appreciate it and do not want to return this tablet to the store.

I have same problem and confirm that the latest system version 'TB-8704X_S000041_180502_ROW' haven't solved the much discussed WIFI issue on my tablet. Going back to 2.4ghz is not to be considered. 

I lose my patience!

 

Is it a software or hardware problem? Please Lenovo ... give us clarity.

I guess the Lenovo office is empty!

To bad, and what a shame, for such a product with great potential!

 

If you are ignoring us Lenovo staff...SHAME ON YOU!

 

We all payed for your products and wouldn't it be nice if you come up with an answer, or better a solution for this problem?
