And if the even listen and react, even greater!

Re: WiFi issue with Tab 4 8 Plus

I've been encountering this very same issue with my Lenovo Phab 2 since this morning. I've been using my unit for more than a year already but it's only now that I had this problem. Is there any solution to this?

Re: WiFi issue with Tab 4 8 Plus

It is not a hardware problem. It worked perfectly until I got a system update. I experienced this issue sooooo soon after the update that I could have figured out what the cause of this problem is. Apparently, they released a crappy update.

Re: WiFi issue with Tab 4 8 Plus

It is definetily a hardware problem. I just got the last software update TB-8704X_S000041_180502_ROW and the problem is still there. This is the second major update I install after I first notice this wifi issue.

No it's not a hardware problem. They just have not fixed this problem through 2 major updates.

Re: WiFi issue with Tab 4 8 Plus

Well this is just great.

Got my Tab4 10 Plus less than 24 hours ago and already had the 5 Ghz wifi die 3 times!

Turning WiFi on and off fixes it instantly, but it's not good enough.

Does anyone make quality issue free products anymore?

Was really happy with the device otherwise, but now might have to return it. I shouldn't have to use 2.4 Ghz as a workaround in 2018!

Pretty sure my router isn't the issue as I have plenty of other devices using 5 Ghz without issue.

Re: WiFi issue with Tab 4 8 Plus - Possible Solution

Try manually joining your network. So first forget it, then go to add network. Type in your SSID, security type & Password.

I have Google WiFi, and so far it only connects to 2.4 GHz with this method.

I'm right next to the unit too. Fingers crossed this holds.

BTW... This does not seem to happen with the regular Tab 4 8, but then it doesnt do AC wireless.

I can make mine die instantly on 5 Ghz by simply doing a test on the Speed Test app. It starts off a nice speed, then suddenly dies.

I tried 2.4 Ghz and it didn't die in the speed test, but then it only hit 50Mbps, I want to use the full 100Mbps of my connection. Really annoying because I love the tablet other than this, but dodgy wifi is a real deal breaker on a tablet.

Edit: Just forced by router to use channel 161 on 5Ghz and have managed to do a few 100Mbps speed tests without it dying! Hopefully it stays that way

How else have you connected your Tablet to your WiFi before?
