Re: Android Source Code

I never said they weren't released, I said neither kernels have worked after being compiled. No one has been able to get them working on the Android Forum. (5+ Devs have tried)

Yes it may have been brought up 3 months ago. But it's only been a few weeks since Mark stepped in and got us the source for one of the tablets.

I have my faith in Mark. We just have to wait. After all this is just a peer-to-peer forum. So trying to rush things doesn't help at all.

Re: Android Source Code

4th posting into this thread on 12-09-2011 sinanju, now gone apparently, got a call from staff at Lenovo. It may be a few weeks since Mark posted, but that isn't when they started working the issue. Stop white-knighting for them.
They are in violation. They have been in violation for a long time. They have been in violation for a long time over several devices. They have had ample time to zip up the required source directories and post them.

Re: Android Source Code

No white knighting here. I don't work for them. I'm just saying their not the only one. It took over 2 months with Samsung for my phones.

Re: Android Source Code

2months is worlds apart from 8 months. 2 months is somewhat acceptable but its bordering long already. But 8 months??

Re: Android Source Code

Mark:

I downloaded the source code of A1, but i can't compile it, because there are many files missed:

scripts/Kbuild.include

scripts/Makefile.build

scripts/Makefile.lib

....

Why?

Actually, i just want to compile module tun.ko, because i need it to run VPN software.

Please release full source code package soon. Please don't waste our customers' time.

Suggestion: Please built-in tun module in kernel, this module is very useful for vpn software.

BTW, could you please provide tun.ko for me, i am using ROM: A107W0_A234_001_015_2643_ROW.zip

Thank you

Re: Android Source Code

The K1 source code is definitely nothing that corresponds to any of the recent builds from Lenovo:

Here's what I see:

a. The stock has been compiled with 4.4.3 toolchain )can be seen in dmesg)

b. The xres/yres in board-ventana-panel.c is set to 1366x768, while on stock is at 1280x800

    (atleast thats what gralloc reports)

c. There a FBIO_TEGRA_FLIP ioctl in fb.c, where the structure tegra_fb_flip_args being sent by NvGrPost does not match the one in the source from Lenovo. In fact lookig at Nvidia's tree the source is probably from 2010....

Mark,

Do let us know if you need to provide more data to the engineering team that what they have provided, is not anywhere close to the binaries.

On a side note, I bought a Samsung GalaxyTab from Frys (sale), at a price very closeto what I bought the K1 for.

While the K1 has better hardware specs, the GalaxyTab is really a neat piece of technology.

I now understand why Apple was so ticked with Samsung, and not so much with other manufacturers.

Re: Android Source Code

We're not forgetting this pending issue, are we? Just a kind reminder that we are still waiting for Lenovo to honor their A1 customers and provide them with the source code for A1, so that they can have a decent software support for it.

Please, do something!
