Lenovo G560 CPU Upgrade

I know this is a bit late but I still have a Lenovo G560 and I'm planning to upgrade it's CPU into the best and latest processor for the Laptop. There's a website that said i5-520M is the best processor but I saw a topic here that his laptop (Lenovo G560) successfully accept i7-620M and I don't know if it was the best possible processor for G560 or is i7-640M is acceptable. I tried asking ChatGPT and said i7-640M is the very best possible processor but still said I should ask or scan websites for it if working or not. My Lenovo G560s' processor is i3-380M. I'm not sure what's the best or the highest possible processor for Lenovo G560 so please help me.

Re:Lenovo G560 CPU Upgrade

Hi IAmCurious,

Upgrading your Lenovo G560's CPU is a great way to improve its performance. However, it's important to note that not all processors are compatible with all motherboards. The i7-640M is indeed a powerful processor, but whether it's compatible with your laptop depends on your laptop's specific model and BIOS version.

I recommend checking the PSREF (Product Specifications Reference) for detailed specifications about your Lenovo G560. This will give you a better idea of which processors are compatible with your laptop.

Also, please remember that upgrading your CPU is a complex task that requires technical knowledge. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, I recommend seeking help from a professional. You can find a local authorized service center here.

I hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Best regards,

Diox_Lenovo

Re:Lenovo G560 CPU Upgrade

Thank You, I should check the link that you've provided and see the possible processors. I will also update BIOS or any other related drives or things that the new processor will need. This will be long though as I don't have any money left.

Update: I don't see any G Series on the link that you provided, that's why I can't see G560 model. I think because it is old or something.
