Application and Drivers: Is it safe to move them from D to C drive?

Lenovo (D) contains two folders:

applications

drivers

The computer was shipped this way and I haven't touched D drive since purchase.

I would like to move them to Windows8_OS (C) from Lenovo (D). Where should I park the two folders within Windows8_OS (C) ?

Hi lenovoman123 ,

Greeetings.

You may keep those folders from the D drive going to C drive (maybe on your document folder under its own folder "lemovo drivers and application") . Same applications and drivers are also available from the support site free to download.

Regards

Your certain it won't affect the operation of Windows? In that case why

were there in D drive by themselves, I mean why was it shipped like that?

I mean perhaps there is a purpose for them to be stand-alone?

Hi lenovoman123 ,

Greetings.

More about the disk partitioning here on this article that you can reference as a guide.

Since there are no separate CD  drivers like before , media-less drivers are provided as independent folders just in case internet is not available at the time for users to easily use once exported to a separate location like usb thumb drive.

Regards

you didn't answer the question

I don't think your answer is related to my post. It hasn't addressed the question I asked.

Re: you didn't answer the question

Hi lenovoman123 ,

Greetings.

As per highlighted article (personal D: partition as personal folders):

"One advantage of having these partitions is the protection of your personal data. In the event you need to use the OneKey recovery system, the personal data stored on the D drive will not be erased as the files on the C drive are restored."

Such folders included may be transferred are prove to be great help specially when doing a clean installation, not having any need to download in an event that there is no internet access.

Regards
