B470 - CPU upgrade

Hi! Is my fisrt tiem in this forum.

The thing is, I got an old B470 laptop, and I want make it shine again upgrading CPU (also adding RAM and an SSD), I got the hardware maintenance manual. In the manual, in the part list, there is an i7- 2630qm listed, the chipset is compatible (is a PGA988B) and a 10W TDP difference is not much, then it can certainly replace my Pentium B940.
But in the part list, in the batteries section, ther are "dual core" and "quad core" battery models, my question is ¿Is it really necessary to buy this "quad core battery"? ¿Is it a "MUST" to run that i7?

By the way, my warranty expired 4 years ago and I can get the hardware (CPU, RAM, SSD) in a much lower price than buying a new laptop ($200). Also, I got the tools, the manual needed and I'm familiar with hardware assembly.

(Sorry for my english)

Mod's Edit: System model added to front of Subject line to improve visibility / clarity.

Re: B470 - CPU upgrade

Or is it just a bigger battery because of the fact that 4 cores have bigger energy consumption?
