B50-45 recovery

2020-01-07, 14:52 PM

Hi, system recovery mode with Novo Button doesn't work. After few minutes shows me blue screen with info: "Your PC ran into a problem and need to restart. We're just collecting some error info and then we'll restart for you." And then trying to reboot but unsuccesfull.

trying to create recovery Usb with Windows Recovery Media System Program on Lenovo website.

After typing Serial Number getting this massage:

"This is not a valid Windows machine for the recovery media program"

Serial no. is correct 100%.

After login on Lenovo website, system recognize that SN and gives me all information about laptop, so number is correct!

What to do?

Please help!

Hi prezes,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If you can no longer download the recovery media from the Lenovo support site I would recommend making a recovery image by using the Windows Media creation tool to try to reinstall the operating system on your machine since the activation keys are embedded on the system board of the machines and should automatically activate in most cases.

You can also view the activation key by accessing the bios or in some cases there will be a sticker on your machine containing this information.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for quick respond!

All steps done as you said.

Looks like there is some bigger issue than I tought :(

Laptop booting from USB but just keep rebooting after few seconds with Blue Windows Logo on screen.

What can cause that problem, Laptop can't start instalation?

Hi prezes,

How did you create the installation media?

Was this on made for GPT or MBR?

I'll wait for your update.

Hi prezes,

I would first recommend checking the BIOS if the machine has the option for UEFI or LEGACY boot.

If these options are available kindly try setting the machine to LEGACY then remaking the installation media using something like Rufus to make a MBR bootable drive.

Kindly let me know how this goes.

Hi prezes,

Firstly please make sure that the BIOS is set to Legacy once that is done please make sure that the Media creation tool you are using is set to MBR as seen on the example photo below.

Let me know if you have any questions.
