B50-50 Windows Boot Manager Troubleshooting


I turned the notebook on, started making a crackling sound and a blue box with Windows Boot Manager and loads of S's in just appears (pic attached), unable to get past it and everytime I reset it comes up again.

This isn't the first time I've had issues, the notebook was sent away about a month ago because of a hard drive malfunction, got it sent back saying it had been replaced. It has worked fine since then up until now. 

Was wondering if anyone knows of a solution or what the problem could be?

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.


Run SFC -SCANNOW Command to check for damaged System files to repair. You may need to run it repeatedly until files are fixed.


Reboot and tap the F8 key repeatedly. Look for Repair My Computer on menu, select it, and see if it finds anything to repair. Next click through to System Recovery Options to run Start-up Repair repeatedly until it reports nothing to Repair.
