B50-80 Windows 10 Bluetooth default always on

I want to change the default setting for the bluetooth to OFF on startup.

Tried everything I've read but still insists on coming on at startup.

Anyone who has a solution that actually works?

Re: B50-80 Windows 10 Bluetooth default always on

Hi Farta,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

We understand that you want to change the default setting for the blue tooth to OFF on start up.

Please follow the below mentioned steps.

Open Control Panel, click on Device Manager.
OR
Right click on the Windows logo AKA the start button, select Run.

Then type in devmgmt.msc and hit enter to open Device Manager.

Double click on your computer name (if it's not open already), double click on Bluetooth, right click on the Bluetooth Adapter then click Disable or Enable.

This way you can stop and start the Bluetooth Adapter from searching for devices at your convenience.

Hope this helps. Do post back if issue persists!

Best Regards,

Poojitha.

Re: B50-80 Windows 10 Bluetooth default always on

Is there no way to get windows to remember the off setting for Bluetooth in settings on startup? It seems crazy to have to disable the device completely through device manager.
There is an issue with windows as on startup even the air plane mode is turned on even though the WiFi and Bluetooth are on.

Re: B50-80 Windows 10 Bluetooth default always on

I disabled the bluetooth adapter (in a similar way to what Poojitha Lenovo suggested) and the adapter STAYS OFF when i turn off the PC but also when i hibernate it.

I have the Intel Bluetooth adapter. Which Bluetooth adapter do you have?

It is also an Intel device. But really disabling a device is not acceptable if there is an option in settings. It is that selection which fails to stay off.

I didn't notice any option in settings .... how do you get to this "setting" window you are talking about?

Re: B50-80 Windows 10 Bluetooth default always on

In windows 10 there is the settings option that is accessible from the main windows menu, then under devices you see the bluetooth management switch. This should switch the bluetooth off or on permanentlybut comes on by itself at startup.
