B50-80 not powering up

hi all

all of a sudden the laptop does not start.

Once disconnected the battery, by pressing the power button, the led starts blinking until it's pressed.

I can hear a internal sound as if a safety switch is triggered.

with the battery on, no way... it looks simply not charged.

The charger is properly working at the desired voltage (I checked with the tester) so the trouble looks internal in the laptop power line.

any idea?

Re: B50-80 not powering up

Hi there, Paopi            -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Try taking out the yellow CMOS battery cell for like 5 minutes, then replug it back. Alternatively, take off your battery and ac power, and press the on/off button 10 times, in 30 seconds succession.

Do you still have warranty left?

Update us how it goes.

Re: B50-80 not powering up

thanks.

i tried checking in the manual to see where the CMOS batteries are located, but i could not find it in the document (i think i was not the only one ;-))

could you give a little hint on how to find them?

also, could you please explain a little better the "press-10-time-in-30-secs-succession" instruction?

is not that clear to me...

Thanks for your patience!

Paolo
