I have this problem too, but with Windows 7. I tried the new drivers, uninstalled it, reinstalled it, nothing helps. The problem is: it works fine but within some time the scrolling doesn't work properly anymore and it does all sorts of stuff on its own, for example zooming the page, clicking where I don't want. This way I even got some pretty vicious malware on my laptop. Please Lenovo, fix us a driver update fast.

I don't think it's a problem with drivers,is a manufacturing problem.
Any Windows use, problem persist, even if you dont i'nstall any drivers, the touchpad finally will freeze. Well,is not a driver problem.

I send my laptop 3 months ago with this problem to service and they fix it. But after that, i have issue and have to send it again, they change my motherboard, and touchpad problem back. I guess they change bios version for older one, but what version i cant tell.

I can definitely say that removing synaptics is not the final solution but helps very much.
I've did it 10 days ago and massively tested the touchpad: sometimes happens that the touchpad does queer things (freezes for a while, moves vertical only and so on...) but it is not so frequent and lasts few seconds.
Compared to before it works significantly better, even if it is not perfect.
Still waiting an official position from Lenovo, such thing is not acceptable.
