B560 touchpad problems

2015-08-09, 10:08 AM

Hi everyone,

I have a Lenovo B560 notebook with an elan touchpad. Ever since windows 8 came out my touchpad doesn't work properly, meaning that scrolling stopped working using the scrollbar and multi-finger gestures don't work.

I updated to windows 10 and updated the touchpad driver to the latest version (11.15.0.14 it says now). Scrolling still don't work, neither does multi touch, however, at the touch of two fingers it works as "right-click" meaning there's some kind of multi finger thing working...

Oh and one more thing. At Control Panel - Mouse - Elan there's a thing called "Options". I guess it is supposed to be where I can set up the touchpad functions, but all that opens up is a blank page with an Elan Smart-Pad headline. I know technically this is not a Lenovo issue but still I bought the computer from Lenovo.

I don't get it, do you guys have any idea? The most important thing would be to make the scrolling work...

Thanks in advance

Actually, it just started to work again after installing the latest update to my windows 10. I didn't delete or re-install the driver or anything, scrolling and multi-fingers just came back.

Dear amark,

welcome in lenovo community,

I believe that you are facing compatibility issue,
since we do not have drivers for this machine compatible with windows 8 or windows 10, so the machine will not be compatible with those windows versions

Kindly find the links below for more information.

Dear SEAlaa,

Thank you for your reply. I understand that there's no driver compatible with these OS's but does that mean that this is just as good as it will ever get? There's nothing to be done but buying a new machine?

I'm experiencing the same frustrating problem(s) with the B560 touch pad.

Since your post, have you resolved the issue .... and if so, how?

Thanks.
