I was able to re-install the video driver from lenovo and make the change to gpedit, but I'm still booting into a black screen in normal.

OK, I just did the recovery button so I'm starting over from a blank Windows 7.  Owell!

Re: B590 boots OK in safe mode (Win 7 Pro 64), black screen w/ cursor in normal boot

Hi dgroyal ,

Would it still re apply video graphics update before black screening even after gpedit?

Were you able to perform system restore to a previous known good working date (a restore point before the event happened)?

Can you also try creating another user account (local admin) since it would have a fresh set of regisry after uninstalling drivers?

Else download the original driver from the support website on the desktop again with safemode with networking without installing , uninstall current driver using display driver uninstaller tools for a driver clean installation

Update us how it goes.

Regards
