I have a Lenovo G50 70 laptop currently with Windows 10 and Linux Mint installed in a dual boot configuration. I recently made a bootable USB of another distro I wanted to try but when I tried booting from USB it shows the error "EFI USB boot device failed". I went into the BIOS and configured the settings and Exited Saving Changes but when I went into the BIOS again, I saw that the changes I made had no effect. Even after restoring default settings the changes reverted.
I cannot open the laptop to change the CMOS battery, because that involves hardware and might be a bit risky. I have heard that a BIOS update can sometime solve this issue but that involves a bit of a risk as well.
I am welcome to hear any other suggestions.
