CPU Upgrade

2019-11-28, 20:51 PM

Hi, I plan to upgrade my Lenovo G500s from Intel Celeron 1005m to Intel Core-i3 3110m. I know I had a problem with Intel Core i3 2350m. The chipset in my laptop is Ivy Bridge and southbridge is HM70 as reported by CPU-Z.  Is this i3 3110m compatible with my laptop?

Thanks for help.

Update: I probably have a weird g500s because it still shuts down with a new cpu. Are there different versions of g500s with different chipsets?
