Cannot get my Lenovo 50-45 in safe mode

My laptop hung up on an update and I was forced to reboot it. When I did, It opens up up the welcome screen. After I put in my password, it tries to load my screen. All that happens is I get a black screen and my icons flash on and off. It is my understanding that the 50-45 auto loads if it fails to boot up three times. Since mine is opening the welcome screen, it will not auto load the the safe mode. Does anyone know of a way I can force it to laod in safe mode?

Re: Cannot get my Lenovo 50-45 in safe mode

If your computer fails to start, or you cannot work thru the steps to restart in safe mode, you can insert a Windows Retail DVD from 7 thru 10 and launch the repair process, choose use a restore point, then pick one that was created before the update was applied.  The downside to this approach is all data created or software installed after the restore point was created may be lost.

Good luck.
