Changing wifi card to get 5ghz in my lenovo g40-70 laptop.

2019-10-30, 16:44 PM

Hello Guys,

I was trying to connect to my 5ghz wifi from my lenovo g40-70 laptop, but it seems it's wlan card doesn't support it.

I am currently using this- https://www.amazon.com/Atheros-QCNFA335-Bluetooth4-0-Wireless-Lenovo/dp/B019GUULO4 as default.

Can i replace this with a 2.4ghz &  5ghz, dual band wlan card?

If it is possbile please send me some details about it or some link to buy.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Habibur9421,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The hardware manual page 77-78 item 12 list OEM WLAN card that can be an option for upgrade of your WLAN card.

Here is also an article on how to get OEM parts but you can also check other resellers that offers it. When purchasing non OEM parts, just review the return options just in case.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards
