Question

After upgrading my laptop to Windows 10, the icon for Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio is missing from my taskbar. How do I create a shortcut to find the Dolby app?

Answer

First, manually locate the Dolby files on your laptop.

  1. Go to the Windows 10 search icon and search for "Control Panel".
  2. Select "Control Panel" from the search results.
  3. When the Control Panel window opens, type "All Control Panel Items" in the same field that shows "Control Panel" (not in "Search Programs and Features").

4. This will reveal all apps in WIndows 10, including any Dolby files.

5. To create a shortcut to the desktop, right-click on the Dolby app in the "All Control Panel Items" list and select "Create shortcut". Then select the desktop as the place for the shortcut.

With a shortcut for the Dolby app now on your desktop, the app is now easily accessible for use.
