Diagnostic tool physical memory failure

Hi,

I've just run Lenovo Diagnostic tool for my G570.

It tells me that the laptop's physical memory has failed.

The failure  code is 42S and there is also a  longer code WME0080000800-HO8Y5I

I can't find any information on these codes.  Can anyone suggest what they mean?

Other than that the laptop is working well and everything has passed the diagnostic tests: except for the the fact that the bluetooth adaptor is missing.  (I don't need this and so I'm not particularly concerned that the adaptor is missing).

Can anyone help, please.

Thank you in advance,

Liam

Re: Diagnostic tool physical memory failure

Hi Liam,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Error code from the tool is internal so only Lenovo support would be the ones that can decode it but basically the description on the specific test is provided.

I suggest running other memory test like Windows diagnostics test or other memory diagnostics tools like memtest to identify issue with the ram stick.

If you manage to isolate which ram is having issue then perhaps removing it and re running diags would confirm if you need replacement for parts.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: Diagnostic tool physical memory failure

I would need to see the whole screen, but the longer code is just a completion code.  Tech Support would ask for that just to confirm you ran the test.
