Re: Does Lenovo G500 have any wifi problems?

Ok do this. Disable the Security key on the router. Just make it open. Then try and connect to the wireless router. Some wireless cards do not like the wpa2. If it connects with no limited connection then we know the wireless card does not support that type of security key. May have to change it to just wpa and not wpa2.

Let me know if that works.

Re: Does Lenovo G500 have any wifi problems?

Hi Jayscott2944, Thanks for your fast response.
No not working (see also my post before), maybe it´s a hardware issue with this series.
(same issue with an additional machine from this series).
Lenovo G500 59399747  Notebook Core i3 4GB 500GB DOS

Additionally I will check that with the Lenovo support

Ok. I will do some digging on my end on this issue and respond as soon as I have something.

Re: Does Lenovo G500 have any wifi problems?

Ok, as it turns out, what worked for me is to install the Windows 8 version of the drivers (even though I have Windows 8.1 installed). I also uninstalled the Lenovo_Wireless_Drivers first. After that everything works fine..

For reference, the file I downloaded, is this : http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/f806g10d.exe

Good luck!

Re: Does Lenovo G500 have any wifi problems?

Thanks,
but that is not working. In the new G500 are Intel WLAN-Cards N135 and no Atheros or Broadcom.

Re: Does Lenovo G500 have any wifi problems?

Spent more than 10 hours with Lenovo and Xfinity Tech supports without solving the problem. Lenovo G500 connects to WiFi in Panara Bread restaurant, but does not connect to the Xfinity WiFi at home.

Seems the wi-if aspect part of it is working, I suggest you turn off your anit- virus program and make sure your settings on your laptop are corresponding with your router.

Hey, I had a similar problem to you Shiroi98. I downloaded the 8.0 64 bit broadcom drivers (even though I have 8.1) and everything seems to be working now. Thanks. And thanks jayscott2944. This was a really frustrating problem.
