Fresh Installation of Win 7 on Lenovo B570

2012-11-13, 18:11 PM

Hi!  I have a Lenovo B570 laptop and it crashed to the point where it won't start up.  I have been trying to install a fresh copy of win 7 but get stuck.  It basically starts off loading the win files as it gets ready to install windows.  After this is done it brings me the window where it wants to know where to install the new copy of windows.  This is where I only see one partition of 465gb.  It tells me I cannot install it there and it won't allow me to partition this drive.  It also tells to make sure the the Bios controllers are enabled.  What do I do next to resolve this problem?  I never had this kind of problem before with other laptops.  Are there some drivers that, perhaps, I need to download?  Please help!

Thank you in advance,

Felix H.

I guess no one can give me any help at all?  I just need to know how I can create a partition to install win 7.  It says that I cannot install win 7 on the drive that's there.  Let me try and explain everything as it is on the window where I get stuck after all the files are installed for windows 7 setup.

So it reads like this:

Where do you want to install Windows?

Then comes this:

Disk 0 Unallocated Space                                         465.8 GB (total size)               465.8GB (free space)

At the bottom I have a few things I can click on......'Refresh', Load Driver and Drive Options (advanced).

And last but not least I have a message that says:

Windows cannot be installed to this disk.  (Show details).

When I click on show details I get the following:

Windows cannot be installed to this disk.  This compter's hardware may not support booting to this disk.  Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.

And that's it.  Now, please someone give some sort of a lead or something.  Thank you again in advance:)

Are you trying to install Win 7 from the recovery media or from a retail CD version?
