Function Keys do not display action On Screen - G710

2014-03-09, 0:20 AM

I recently downgraded my G710 from Windows 8 (which it came with), to Windows 7.  The only issue I've noticed is that it does not display anything on screen when you use the function keys, such as the volume up or down, or bright ness up or down.  The keys work, but it would be nice to see on screen that my volume is set at 2% vs say 100% when I'm turning it up or down.

Just installed it and it works great! For future reference that link you provided is from G780 (Lenovo Energy Management for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) Version: 7.0.3.4)

Thanks!  You've been a great help!  Just an fyi to others, the brightness buttons still do not display anything on screen, but that's not a big deal as you can obviously see the brightness changing when you press the buttons.  I was mainly concerned with the volume buttons, which this software takes care of, along with most of the other function buttons.

Maybe I messed up ? ? ?  :manembarrassed:

I installed this on my B575e. My brightness function key was not working. Reboot would normally fix it. Now with this installed, I see two meter displays for the speaker key, but only one, the original, for the britness. Should this be uninstalled ?

can you help me, the brightness keys on my g700 bring up the bar on the screen then nothing happens its not allowing me to adjust the brightness in any way. i recently upgraded to windows 8.1 against my will and when it upgraded my display driver that happened along with freezes in video that i never had before, i rolled back the driver and still got the same problem, should i do a system restore or is there another driver i can use other than the intel hd graphics driver to fix these problems?
