G40-30 (80fy) cannot boot to BIOS after series of problem.

2018-02-27, 17:41 PM

I have Lenovo G40-30 (80fy) that cannot boot into BIOS.

The problems that my laptop have encountered:

1) The wireless card won't connect to the access point. After restarting the laptop, the card not detected with 'lspci' program in Linux.

2) I can't control the touchpad because the cursor is running craziy to the top-left of the screen, and sometimes its doing left- and right-click.

3) Finally, my laptop won't turn on. When I press the power button the power and battery indicator is on just for ~3 seconds and then turn off again.

Can someone explain what's going on with my laptop and how to fix it?

The chain of events you describe lead me to believe that the system board is failing. You may be able to remove the HDD and test it from a working PC with a HDD dock or USB / HDD adapter. If the HDD reads ok, and passes diagnostics then you may need a new system board.
