G40-80 wifi upgrade

2020-10-15, 1:33 AM

Hello!

I'm trying to upgrade my wireless card to support dual band. I've bought it with a Realtek RTL8723BE and, looking at the manual on page 78, i've bought and replaced with a new Intel Wireless Dual-band Ac 3160ngw. But, on system POST, i got this error:

"1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the network card."

Any advices?

Hello,

In order to pass the boot-time whitelist a card must be a listed model and have a Lenovo FRU number. The generic version of the card won't pass.
