G400s Touch - Wifi Connect Problem, Want to Install Dual Band Wifi Card.

2017-07-30, 13:37 PM

HI,

I am having G400s Touch laptop which is out of warranty. It has Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB Wireless Netowork Adapter (Wifi Card) installed but now a days I am getting problem in connecting to Wifi.

Router doesnt has any issue as mobile and other laptop is able to connect to same wifi without any issue.

Sometime G400s Touch laptop connects to wifi and then dropped and then didnt connect again for hours. So I decided to change the Network Adapter

I want to change to new Wifi card which is Dual Band. Please let me know which all Dual Band Wifi Cards / Network Adapter supported by G400s Touch. Is there any link on web where i can see the compatibility.

I dont want to end up in the situation where I will buy dual band netowrk adapter but then it wont support my laptop. Please help!!!

Thanks...

Hi emohnish

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Whitelisted OEM WLAN cards compatible to your system's BIOS here on the hardware manual page 85.

Similar to this discussion b/g/n band are those available but not with AC.

18 WLAN, WiFi 1x1 BGN Cbt BCM94313HMG 1x1BGN HMC WLAN 20200102
18 WLAN, WiFi 1x1 BGN Liteon HB125 1x1BGN HMC WLAN 20200223
18 WLAN, WiFi 1x1 BGN+BT4.0 Cbt BCM943142HM 1x1BGN+BT4.0 HMC WLAN 20200222
18 WLAN, WiFi 1x1 BGN+BT4.0 Liteon WB225 1x1BGN+BT4.0 HMC WLAN 20200224
18 WLAN, Intel 135 1x1BGN+BT Intel 135 1x1BGN+BT PCIE HMC WLAN 20200486

Aside from getting specific OEM part number, you may also check further for parts compatibility using the parts lookup page using your serial number. "Lookup by parts" would show if the part is compatible.

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards
