My Lenovo G470 laptop model 20078 is also unable to boot.
"BOOTMGR is missing" is written.

Hello,
The problem you face is not serious and was probably caused by messy windows updates.
Do you have windows installed?
The first thing you should try is go in System Recovery and use the Startup Repair. You will need a Windows installation disk to do this. Here is a link that might help:

As the other poster mentioned, this may be a windows (operating system) issue, one that can be repaired with the links provided.
If that does not work, boot into BIOS with the Lenovo key, then run hard disk diagnostics if available. If it comes back with errors, purchase a replacement drive ASAP. Your data may still be present on the damaged drive, and recoverable using a USB dock or adapter.
If installing a new drive, make sure you have your recovery disks available. If not you will need a retail copy of the version of Windows, or purchase a set of DVD's from Lenovo Support.
